Job Title: Project Coordinator - Nutrition and WASH

Purpose of the Position:

To provide management, coordination and technical assistance to the World Vision Zimbabwe high impact critical nutrition interventions for children under five years with a focus on wasting and stunting reduction project, with specific responsibility for an assigned grant funded project including design and capacity building of staff in Nutrition and WASH, coordination with ADPs and line government departments at district level

Please note that this position is being prepositioned for an upcoming grant

Major Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, implement and coordinate UNICEF funded integrated Nutrition and WASH projects implemented in five districts and coordination with ADPs and district level government departments.

  • Work with the Grant Team Leader, the respective sector leads and GAM team to produce reports and submit them timeously to UNICEF and Support Offices.

  • Control and manage budgets for specific grant funds

  • Network with local authorities and ministries, other NGOs, Research Institutions

  • Coordinate the activities of project field staff, including the drafting of detailed implementation plans for Nutrition and WASH sectors, to ensure the timely and successful implementation of the Agriculture Recovery project.

  • Provide field monitoring visits to districts and provide support to the teams

  • Ensure that documentation of key project events is done and publications circulated to relevant stakeholders

  • Support the Nutrition and WASH team in field in identification and reaching appropriate target populations to be the recipients of inputs.

  • Visit target communities on a regular basis to discuss with WVZ team, government stakeholders and community groups and identify their problems and learn from experiences relevant to impact children’s nutritional status.

  • Ensure that appropriate training materials are designed and produced for use in local community development work and informal education activities.

  • Provide technical support to other programmes overlapping with Nutrition and WASH interventions e.g. Health, Food Security, other programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Degree in Nutrition/ Nutrition Sciences, or any related field

  • Experience in managing WASH projects is an added advantage

  • In depth knowledge in Nutrition and project management.

  • In-depth knowledge on Gvt regulations in Nutrition and WASH sectors operational systems.

  • High networking skills

  • Computer Literacy

  • Clean class 4 Driver’s licence
