Position Title: Livelihoods Project Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Project Manager oversees the project and is responsible for ensuring the implementation of a 2 million USD portfolio of projects aimed at digital learning, vocational training and entrepreneurship for refugees and host communities. The post holder will apply innovative, dynamic approaches to the establishment and expansion of WV Jordan’s youth livelihoods work, which includes piloting of a new partnership project with Silatech. The Project Manager will ensure that the project implementation is on time and within the planned budget, track and control the tasks distribution of Project Officers and inquire technical support related to innovation from the Livelihood team.
The post holder will also ensure that all program interventions are highly valued by the community, well-coordinated with partners (including private sector), and acknowledged as addressing the needs of beneficiaries.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage the operations of the assigned projects
Ensure the full implementation of the Project Detailed implementation plan
Ensure coordination between the operational units, local actors, other departments and implementation staff.
Observe, gather and report field dynamics information and date
Provide clear instructions to the managed units
Attend and participate in Monthly and annual workshops organized by WV Jordan
Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Operations Manager or the Livelihood Manager
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Experience:
At least two years of experience in managing humanitarian innovation projects or private sector business start-up
Knowledge & Skills:
Proven ability and experience in delivering services for students, job seekers, and volunteers
Two years of experience facilitating trainings, focus groups, or community meetings
Demonstrated expertise market assessment, market analysis, market research or closely related role.
Proven working experience in project management
Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Child Protection, Participation, Do No Harm, Sphere
Knowledge of and adherence to the Child Protection Standards, Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
Highly organized and a good multi-tasker with a positive attitude and with a willingness to learn.
Good interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity, and physical stamina
Fluency in the English and Arabic language
Advanced skills of Information technologies (IT) and MS software (PowerPoint, excel, word
Facilitation
Experience in youth life skills or vocational education
Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of refugees issues
One year of experience in a small or medium enterprise business
Experience collaborating with private sector innovators
Experience in managing volunteers
Experience with child protection and education; background in dealing with children and youth is a plus
Considerable knowledge and experience with budgets and procurement processes
Know the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and evaluation/ project cycle management.
The position requires being in the field sites 2-3 days a week
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.
Be prepared to travel to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required.
