PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To guide regional and National Office (NO) programming by ensuring quality assurance support, program designs, monitoring and evaluation, for effective implementation of NO strategies. This position will also be responsible for the generation of evidence of impact for child well being programes for the region and the lead development of Southern Africa Regional and National Office child well being Reports. In collaboration with Support Offices, through the Programme Support Team mechanism, this position will lead regional capacity building initiatives for NOs in DME.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective monitoring and evaluation system in Southern Africa Region (SAR):
- Define and support implemention of program monitoring systems working with key DME staff in national offices.
Evidence for Child Wellbeing:
- Synthesize, analyze and avail credible and regular data to SAR leadership on SAR’s contribution to the wellbeing of children.
Program Quality Assurance:
- Lead adaptation and/or development of guidelines and tools for effective program design, monitoring and evaluation focusing on the key project models prioritized by the NOs.
Resource Development:
- Contribute to Resource development by providing evidence of programming impact.
Program Support Team (PST) Engagement, Collaboration and cross functional work:
- Organize, manage and ensure PSTs in SAR are effective functioning and meeting the needs of respective NOs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills including facilitation, writing and oral communication.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Data analysis and technical report writing.
Work Environment:
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
