The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a SR. IT PROGRAM MANAGER in our Business Technology team in our NATIONAL CENTER OFFICE located in DALLAS, TX . The Program Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex programs and projects across multiple business units. The Program Manager facilitates the prioritization of the Program portfolio and makes visible the health of the project portfolio. The Program Manager manages and coordinates dedicated resources across multiple departments in order to deliver on specific business related priorities. The Program Manager may directly manages resources (Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance) and contract resources as needed, and ensures that all the technology projects follow the standard AHA project delivery process.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for managing prioritization of a business segment(s) project requests and aligning direct and indirect resources accordingly.
  • Ensures that all projects are in alignment with the overall AHA strategic value proposition and AHA information technology architecture roadmap.
  • Influences the definition of project success criteria, scope and assists with securing funding and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Responsible for overseeing or directly managing complex technology or strategy programs and projects.
  • Manages the portfolio roadmap to ensure benefit delivery to the organization in the most effective manner.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating resources across multiple departments to deliver on specific organization priorities.
  • Manage direct and contract resources as needed.
  • Ensures that all assigned projects follow the standard procedures that are used in the management and deployment of projects.
  • Where necessary, fulfills project management and business analysis roles and responsibilities as needed. Identifies and solves project issues and manages risks effectively.
  • Possesses organization, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Responsible for senior leadership awareness and presentation of portfolio roadmaps and representation for governance committees.
  • Reports the progress and health of the program portfolio as well as the issues and recommendations to management stakeholders
  • Works with the Risk Management, Legal and Procurement to mitigate any issues that may arise
  • Works with Business Technology Innovation function to solve business problems with new approaches and solutions.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required in business, technology or other related fields
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience managing large technology systems implementations with business process implications requiring change management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Business Analyst and Project Management Experience
  • Must be able to interact well with both non-technical stakeholders and vendors/partners.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and influence Executive stakeholders as well as communicate to non-technology groups.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
