Anera, a leader in development and relief specialized in the Middle East and particularly the Palestinian people, seeks a skilled annual giving manager to join our team in Washington, DC. This position is an integral part of the fundraising team and is responsible for Anera’s leadership giving program, planned giving program, Anera’s mid-level donors and contributes to the team’s data-informed strategy. They also support other activities of the fundraising team. Additionally, this position manages the donor relations coordinator and fundraising and communications intern.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Donor identification, cultivation and stewardship:

● Develops strategy and manages Anera Leadership Circle program as an effective pipeline to the Major Gifts program.

● Creates, plans and executes stewardship activities (webinars, events, calls, etc) for Leadership Circle donors. Develops and tracks annual KPIs for program.

● Leads the creation of communications materials, in coordination with the communications team and Donor Relations Coordinator related to Leadership Circle events, appeals, letters and other promotional or communications materials.

● Manages portfolio of 150-200 active mid-level donors plus ~400 prospects by developing donor strategies towards reaching maximum giving potential among these donors. Identifies prospects for cultivation and designs stewardship plans with the ultimate goal of moving mid-level donors towards major-level giving. Oversees seamless transition into major donor portfolios.

● Leads Anera’s fundraising strategy for planned giving (the Legacy Society). Integrates planned gift objectives into donor funding requests and facilitates training for fundraising staff and CEO on planned giving options and asks.

Management and Strategy

● Leads fundraising team in top-level data analytics and reporting using CRM and wealth management software.

● Makes data-informed fundraising strategy recommendations and decisions to maximize staff time and efforts, ultimately towards achieving a higher ROI.

● Manages Anera’s vendor relationships with WealthEngine, FreeWill and other vendor relationships as warranted.

● Supervises donor relations coordinator and fundraising and communications interns.

Events and External Outreach

● Collaborates with fundraising and communications teams on annual dinner, iftars and other external events.

● Leads Anera’s multi-channel fundraising efforts in the areas of donor-advised funds (DAF), qualified charitable distributions (QCD), and stock giving, with the goal of increasing non-cash revenue streams.

● Tracks all moves and actions in the CRM.

Educational Background: 
Master's Degree In Relevant Field
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications

● Master’s degree in a relevant field (international relations/development, finance, business) with at least 5 years of experience in revenue development and at least three years of experience at a managerial level.

● Experience in structuring corporate and investor partnership deals and leading the formulation and execution of impact investments and triple bottom line returns.

● Experience managing global partnerships.

● Exposure to revenue-generation from a wide variety of sources including investors/ investment funds, corporations, foundations, family offices and individuals.

● Comprehensive management skills and experience are required, including but not limited to short and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, and financial management, including on a remote basis.

● Demonstrated ability to maintain best revenue-generating and operational practices, employing clearly defined objectives and transparent methods to measure success.

● Knowledge of and experience with private fundraising and resource generation and demonstrated success in raising six- and seven-figure gifts from donors and funders.

● Knowledge of and experience with business development and proposal writing to win public, government and institutional grants.

● Strong communication, strategic, and leadership skills, as well as the capacity and desire to work in an environment of consensus-based decision-making and highly effective cross-disciplinary cooperation.

● Proposal writing and grant solicitation experience required.

● Excellent and persuasive communicator.

● Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.

● Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and self-directed environment.

● Ability to work cohesively and effectively in a team environment.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000
