Position Overview

The Program Coordinator is a critical role for our team, reporting directly to our Chief Program Officer, with myriad opportunities to learn the inner workings of an education nonprofit and connect with incredible professionals across the sector. In this role, you will support a variety of our core initiatives and provide high-quality programmatic and administrative support to the team, assisting with the planning, implementing, and evaluation of our many programs across the country. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, thrive in an independent yet collaborative remote work environment, and possess a desire to pursue mission driven work. We are also looking for someone who is excited to develop more responsibility as our organization and impact continues to expand; we are a small and nimble team, with lots of opportunities to grow!

Education Board Partners (EBP) is the only national nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to strengthening nonprofit boards in education. Our mission is to ensure that every nonprofit education board is actively and successfully working to improve quality, equity, and accountability in public education, so that all students have access to a great public school. Founded in 2010 as Charter Board Partners, we offer support for boards across the country, including recruitment, training, and matching, cohort programs focused on leadership and equity, board assessments, and deep-dive coaching. We also provide leadership for the sector about the importance of boards and what effective, equity-focused governance looks like, including widely available trainings and high quality tools and resources. Areas of Responsibility: 

Primary Responsibilities

Program Support (60%)

Provide support for EBP’s programs across the country, including our cohort programs - e.g. Board Leadership Academy; Equity Institute; Recruiting, Training, & Matching - and our consulting work with individual boards. 

  • Implement key aspects of program preparation and delivery, including training and event logistics and tech, program marketing and communications, content support, tools/resource management, and feedback collection
  • Manage the administration of our board effectiveness diagnostic survey to individual boards and across cohorts, and utilize our survey software to prepare reports for the team and clients
  • Own program-related streams of work within our communications strategy, including the development of program marketing materials, and writing copy for and distributing emails to program participants
  • Support senior staff and consultants with developing, implementing, and tracking concurrent project plans including timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison for co-sponsored events with partner organizations, providing the support required from EBP’s side and disseminating necessary communication to the team
  • Schedule, organize, and, at times, participate in program-related meetings internally and externally
  • Assist with conference registration and other special event logistics as needed 

Internal Processes and Systems (40%) 

Our internal infrastructure is the engine of our organization; we design all systems and processes with the end goal of scaling our external impact. Everyone plays a critical role in maintaining our organizational health in service of exceptional programming, including the Program Coordinator, who will: 

  • Maintain components of EBP’s program operations ecosystem - includes significant daily usage of all systems, data entry and management, and supporting the design and execution of team processes across all platforms (e.g., Salesforce CRM, Asana project management, Zoom, Google Drive, DropBox, LiveBinder, survey administration software, social media, etc.)
  • Help manage and support the utilization of program technology, such as video conferencing platforms, presentation software, and other remote program delivery technologies
  • Assist with the gathering and evaluating of impact data across all programs, and the tracking of org-wide goals in support of our strategic plan
  • Support senior staff and the CEO with reporting on our impact (e.g. grant reports, impact summaries)
  • Provide additional internal program operations and technical support as needed 
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • At least two years of professional work experience
  • Experience coordinating complex projects in a fast-changing environment with various stakeholders, deadlines, and deliverables
  • The ability to work independently and flexibly, as we are a remote organization with periodic in-person team gatherings and client travel 
  • Had success in a client or customer facing role, or possess strong relational skills
  • Developed a familiarity with the national education reform landscape (preferred but not required)

  • Collaborative, self-starting, and adaptable: You enjoy working with a passionate and geographically dispersed team, you are a natural initiator, and you don’t mind having lots of balls in the air at all times. 
Compensation/Benefits:

The starting salary for this role is $55,000. Final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience, geography, and level of expertise.
