Responsible for driving growth in assigned key markets by providing strategic direction to RVPs, Executive Directors, and Student Series Staff in assigned chapters/markets. The Director will provide consultation; contribute to performance management of staff; and development of short and long range plans, key drivers and best practices for the field. Assist the VP, Student Series with development of tools, materials and content and may assist in hiring for key Student Series field positions. The National Student Series Team is responsible for creating a culture of excellence and achieving the Society’s overall revenue goal for Student Series and the National Campaign Goal.
This position supports chapters on the West Coast
- Develop the comprehensive strategic plan for the assigned Student Series campaign markets which includes organizational best practices, specific revenue targets and expense budget, timeline, logistics, volunteer activities and recruitment, marketing, logistics and sponsorship plan for each event.
- Intense consultation and support to select events, including responsibility for ensuring KPIs are met in the field
- Participate in key volunteer field meetings to drive best practice outcomes
- Develop positive volunteer interactions through recruitment, mentoring, and providing comprehensive support for volunteer leadership and participants to develop and achieve personal fundraising plans, while focusing on the mission of LLS.
- Model & Coach organizational best practices with regard to recruiting and managing high level volunteers, revenue generation activities, expense and fiscal controls and marketing/promotions and logistics resulting in chapter revenue growth and achievement of revenue goals.
- Responsible for supervising and training campaign staff in achieving fundraising goals.
- Identify target audiences and build appropriate recruitment and fundraising strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge, and retain and upgrade event donors/participants.
- Ongoing strategic consultation to RVPs, EDs and Senior LTN staff in regards to campaign strategy, staff and volunteer performace and talent hiring and evaluation.
- Produce forecasting and projections reports by evaluating the effectiveness of the on-going fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising efficiency (cost/expense), community engagement, event satisfaction, and overall success of the campaign.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS's mission and programs to promote the Society's fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- 6 - 8 years fundraising, sales, marketing, communications, event planning experience
- Previous experience as a Campaign Manager a plus
