The Associate Director of Face-2-Face Fundraising implements and manages marketing strategies and plans that align with the overall goals for monthly donor acquisition through national face-2-face (canvassing) fundraising initiatives and campaigns.

Areas of Responsibility: 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

The Associate Director of Face-2-Face Fundraising is responsible for the management and implementation of strategic marketing programs to build awareness, engage stakeholders, influence conservation action, and achieve revenue goals through face-2-face fundraising (canvassing).  S/he manages all aspects of specific programs and projects, including supervision of staff.  The Associate Director works with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure work product delivery is consistent with the marketing goals and strategies through the alignment of staff, vendors and team efforts to match priorities set by senior management. In addition to working with multiple vendor-partners specializing in face-2-face fundraising s/he will work with state marketing and development leaders across the Conservancy to implement local face-2-face fundraising campaigns.

S/he reports to the Director of Acquisition and manages the budget and operational delivery of all aspects of the face-2-face acquisition program, whether applied internally or with external partners. S/he will work will also work with Membership’s Retention and Digital teams to ensureS/he is responsible for relationships with internal partner(s) and key stakeholder group(s). 


RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

• Designs, manages and implements multiple projects by coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization. 
• Manages one or more professional staff and accountable for achievement of team business and professional development goals and objectives. 
• Leads marketing initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Assists with creation/administration of budget, evaluates results and develops corrective strategies, as needed.
• Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.
• Opportunity to act independently within specific program or project goals. Work checked through agreement by superiors.

Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   
• Experience leading large face-2-face fundraising program and managing to long-term return on investment success metrics.
• Experience supervising staff and teams. 
• Experience cultivating and managing vendor relationships. 
• Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
• Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
• Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance and conflict resolution.
• Fosters an environment of creativity and professional growth. 
• Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.
• Ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups including donors, board members, and the public.
• Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing disciplines.  Cross disciplinary knowledge to support program objectives.
• Demonstrated ability in managing the fiduciary aspects of planning and delivery of budgets.
