The Program Coordinator will be jointly responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient administration of Fund Texas Choice’s trip planning program in alignment with reproductive justice values. A practical support program coordinator (patient navigator) is a community health professional that focuses on the client’s needs. The program coordinator will help guide the client through the abortion care system and will work to overcome obstacles faced by the client receiving the care and services they require. This position usually involves daytime work, but sometimes evening and weekend shifts are expected.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Conducting Trip Planning

  • Help conduct client intake via telephone or online.

  • Arrange and oversee all client needs within 2 business days of their intake.

  • Interface and maintain positive working relationships with clinic, hotel, airline, and bus personnel.

  • Work with the client to identify logistical needs to access care and help the client navigate appropriate resources.

  • Working with the client to identify other support services as needed, and providing appropriate referrals and linkages.

  • Accommodating interpretive language services when needed.

  • Facilitating pre and post-abortion visits and ensuring continuity of care and linkage to community resources.

  • Discuss unique client needs with the programs team. 

  • Collect, track, and report required program data.

Monitoring Effectiveness and Reporting on Program

  • Conduct post-trip follow up with clients to collect feedback and share findings with the Director of Operations & Programs.

  • Prepare and provide monthly reports showing aggregate trip information and provide recommendations for areas of improvement.

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and Program to review and revise the program budget.

  • Based on post-trip follow up findings, make recommendations for scaling trip planning services and introducing new supporting programs.

  • Develop training tools and provide guidance for emerging practical support funds looking to replicate our services.

  • Supplement policies and tools, as necessary, to respond to changes within the program. 

Partner Engagement

  • Maintain ongoing partnerships with national reproductive justice organizations and local abortion funds.

  • Attend support groups, as required by grants.

  • Engage in coalition groups, as time permits.

Outreach

  • Participate in outreach to clinics, shelters, and other organizations regarding how to access services, e.g. Abortion 101 trainings.

  • Participate in presentations that promote practical support services. 

  • Engage in social media, as needed. 

Administrative Support 

  • Code program transactions and assist with monthly financial reports.

  • Participate in fundraising efforts and donor solicitation as requested by the Board or Director of Development & Communications.

Skills/Experience: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Two years of related operational or administrative experience.

  • Desire to work as part of a team to promote the values of reproductive justice.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized. 

  • Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both English and Spanish.

  • Attentiveness to the ever-changing logistics and requirements associated with trip planning.

  • Strong ability to empathize and listen in order to understand and meet clients’ needs.

  • Ability to work well with a variety of personnel with differing levels of authority, experience, and backgrounds, including board members, staff, and volunteers.

  • Self-motivated - ability to work with remote supervision.

  • Prior experience and high comfort level with online business and co-working tools such as Google Suite, Slack, etc.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary range is $50,000-$60,000. Medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid-time off, paid holidays.
