Pender United Methodist Church is a congregational family with exceptionally strong lay leadership and staff.  The team works closely together as a family in fulfilling our mission.  We employ nine full time staff and three part time employees. The Nursery program is supported by adult volunteers as well as paid hourly nursery and child care workers. Our Pender Hill Preschool and Mother's Day Out program is supported by a part time salaried Director, Assistant Director, and hourly educators.

Pender strives to be a faithful steward of God's gifts. Our 2020 operating budget is $1,132,215.  This budget supports our program outreach ministries, maintenance, capital expenses for our $3.5 million facility and our professional staff. Beyond the operating and program budget, we have raised over $311,000 in direct support to nearly 80 missionaries and agencies around the world, the country, and in our own neighborhood to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We feel that some of Pender's strengths include its worship and music programs for preschool, children, youth, and adults; our domestic and international mission opportunities to Peru, Paraguay, Phillippi West Virginia, Poland, and Vietnam.  We also have a strong local outreach and accessibility programs with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, Teens Opposing Poverty, and support to local elementary schools with higher under represented/under served communities.
