Associate Director, Corporate Sponsorship Marketing

The Associate Director of Corporate Sponsorship Marketing will be responsible for leading acquisition and retention strategies of corporate partners for our Sponsorship products. This job is an important and growing position within the Global Sponsorship team, establishing, maintaining and growing relationships with key corporate partners such as TJ Maxx, PVH, Primrose and Havas, to name a few. This is a dynamic position, working closely with many teams within and outside of Global Sponsorship, including Acquisition, Retention, Operations, Corporate, Individual Philanthropy, IT, Brand Marketing & Communications, Gift Processing, Country Offices, and Members.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Acquisition and Retention (45%):

  • Help to set goals and KPIs for Corporate Sponsorship Marketing
  • Develop best- in-class acquisition and retention strategies to achieve goals and ensure renewal and longevity of sponsorship partnerships
  • Partner with key internal departments to leverage new business opportunities and secure existing partnership’s satisfaction and revenue
  • Develop compelling pitch presentations to share with corporate prospects
  • Design an attractive, technologically advanced and turn-key Sponsorship offering, customized to meet individual partner needs
  • Design and develop new products that appeal to Corporations, such as Program and Project Sponsorships
  • Identify and source new corporate partners for Sponsorship based on an approved set of criteria including markets, segments and sectors
  • Build relationships with key corporate Sponsors in order to retain, grow revenue and leverage them as brand ambassadors
  • Represent Sponsorship Marketing in the emergency working group and engage Corporations in emergency response fundraising when appropriate.

Management (40%):

  • Lead, manage and motivate the Manager of Corporate Sponsorship Marketing to drive goals and KPIs
  • Work with internal and external teams to drive goals and KPIs, including Gift Processing and Data Stewardship, Data & Business Intelligence Analysis, Acquisition, Retention, IT and MCM

Reporting/Analytics (10%):

  • Ensure all reporting and coding requirements of the partnerships
  • Project Manage implementation of any changes needed in BBEC to optimize reporting and analytics
  • Provide ROI analysis on individual partnerships
  • Retention KPIs for corporate sponsorship partners

Budget Management (5%):

  • Responsible for managing the corporate partnership budget
  • Perform other duties as may be required
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communication or degree in related field required (relevant experience a plus)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate, major gift, or account management/client services  role
  • Understanding of “Corporate America”
  • Proven experience in donor cultivation and project management making sound recommendations for cultivation/stewardship strategy with strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic,  relationship builder
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience executing multi-channel campaigns (on line, print, phone, digital)
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural, fast-paced environment.
  • Independent problem-solver and decision-maker
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure on a number of competing tasks.
  • Excellent presentation skills, as well as strong ability to convey technical information to donors and staff.
  • Energetic, organized, creative professional who can work independently and as a team player.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
