Job Description: Construction Program Manager
Summary: Habitat for Humanity of Madison & Clark Counties is seeking a Construction Program Manager who will oversee all new construction, remodeling, and home repair projects performed by our Habitat affiliate in the delivery of our mission. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage project schedules and budgets. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively with a variety of people subsets ranging from unskilled volunteers, contractors, partner families, and staff team members.
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Time requirements: Full time; some seasonal fluctuation; weekends and some evenings; flexibility of schedule determined by efficiencies achieved. Arrives to work on time and completes assignments.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Construction Program & Team Management
- Construction Team Management
- Direct construction personnel to ensure smooth building schedule.
- Provide staff performance evaluations at least annually and coaching as needed.
- Prepare and maintain an annual build schedule and program budget.
- Conduct regular construction planning meetings, weekly and/or as needed.
- Serve as staff liaison for Construction Committee and attend monthly meetings.
- Assist in identification and recruitment of key volunteer leaders and interns.
- Safety Program Management
- Maintain and keep updated Affiliate Safety Manual and document routine safety activities.
- Ensure high standard of safety on construction sites.
- Work with ReStore Director to support ReStore safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure participation in all Lockton Safety programs and maximize benefits of program for cost-savings.
- Additional Construction Program Management
- Develop construction practices that minimize waste and document results.
- Coordinate and maintain Gift-In-Kind inventory and program.
- Instruct the homeowner maintenance component of Homeowner Readiness classes.
- Manage and maintain all construction tools and equipment in manner to ensure safe and efficient use.
- Construction Team Management
- Project Management including all new construction, remodeling, and home repair projects
- Prepare and submit building plans that are in accordance with affiliate standards, current code regulations, and funder requirements.
- Prepare and submit work scopes, budgets, schedules, and material estimates for home repair projects.
- Coordinate and complete construction projects in accordance with the project budget, construction schedule, volunteer schedule, technical plans, and building code requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule inspections and subcontractors, as needed.
- Estimate tool and material quantities. Orders and receives deliveries in manner that promotes a good site management and safety practices.
- Ensure that subcontractor documents and requirements are documented and meet standards. (ex. Insurance requirements)
- Work in collaboration with partner families to select eligible home finishes.
- Ensure that all warranty work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
- Volunteer Crew Management
- Prepare for expected and unexpected volunteers prior to volunteer work days.
- Coordinate directly with the Community Engagement Manager about upcoming volunteer needs and adjustments in the volunteer schedule.
- Leads the effort in volunteer retention. Assists in identification and recruitment of key volunteers.
- Works alongside volunteers but delegates appropriate work for varying abilities.

- Effective teaching, coaching and mentoring skills (especially for volunteers, partner families, staff)
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in use of computer programs related to general professional office operations and the construction business such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to speak publicly about the mission of Habitat for Humanity and encourage support of volunteers, donors, suppliers and contractors
- Ability to effectively engage large groups of people in meaningful volunteer activities
- Promote stewardship of all Habitat resources
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Degree in construction-related field, or equivalent experience
- Certification in Project Management (PMI or PMP) a plus
- First Aid and CPR certifications a plus
- OSHA 10 or Habitat Competent Person Certifications a plus
