Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking an Operational Excellence Analyst for a 2 year grant funded role. The Operational Excellence Analyst is responsible for working with affiliates that have chosen to end their relationship with HFHI (voluntary disaffiliation/dissolution) or affiliates that have been identified for disciplinary disaffiliation; assists these non-profits in the wind down of operations and corporate dissolutions or name changes to assure that the work occurs in a legal manner and in a way as to not negatively impact the Habitat for Humanity brand.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist affiliates in their dissolution (or name change) process. This includes: guiding affiliates through the process, seeking a neighboring affiliate to accept assets, work with affiliates to resolve issues that hinder dissolution, stepping in to do the work when necessary, making referrals to pro bono counsel and providing encouragement and reminders.
· Collaboration with Operational Excellence Monitoring & Compliance Analyst to work with affiliates that need further guidance on the dissolution, merger or revitalization process.
· Maintain and update HFHI's protocol for disaffiliations and dissolutions.
· Provide guidance and information to affiliates about options available when they are uncertain about their future; discusses and educate HFHI staff about the dissolution and disaffiliation process.
· Collect, record, and analyze data as it relates to dissolutions, disaffiliations, asset transfers and name changes.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
· 3-5 years of direct experience
· Understanding and or experience working within a federated/affiliated organizational model.
· This work requires compassion, patience and persistence as well as the ability to think creatively about how to bring matters to a successful closure.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Paralegal or similar experience.
· 3+ years’ experience as an HFH Executive Director
Requires home based or free independent office space to be handled by the incumbent
