Habitat serves families by building, rehabilitating and repairing homes with low-income families in focus neighborhoods. Through the Neighborhood Revitalization Program Habitat partners with community residents, municipalities, congregations and businesses to improve neighborhoods block by block through physical repairs, clean-ups and community improvement projects.

Habitat is not a give-away program. Partner Families purchase their houses at no profit with no-interest mortgages. In addition they invest 500 hours of their own labor on the construction of their home and in an intense education program focused on financial literacy and home and yard maintenance. About Habitat ReStore

The Habitat ReStore is a building materials re-use center that accepts new and used building materials and then sells them to the public at low prices. The ReStore supplies funding for Habitat’s mission of affordable homes. The 25,000 square foot Habitat ReStore is located at 3545 Grand Avenue in Gurnee. It is open from Tuesday through Saturday. General Description

The ReStore Procurement Manager in a key leader in growing revenue by securing donated products for sale at the Habitat Restore. Revenue supports our mission of creating safe and affordable places to live as Habitat builds homes, communities and hope in Lake County, IL. Focusing on our strongest stakeholders: manufacturers, vendors, businesses, remodeling contractors, and individuals rehabbing homes, the Procurement Manager asks for donations of high-value products for re-sale.

The Procurement Manager creates and implements solicitation strategy, prospect research, and donor identification and cultivation in a clear and tracked process in conjunction with our 3 year strategic plan to ensure that the ReStore meets or exceeds revenue goals.

He or she will report to the ReStore Manager and will work closely with the Affiliate Director of Development and Marketing Manager, to set strategy and execute the work. He or she will supervise ReStore Procurement volunteers, with potential for additional direct reports. Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years progressive experience in business
  • Demonstrated experience in cold calling, sales and meeting goals
  • Experience developing strategy, implementing best practices and executing a plan
  • Researching and prospecting skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience supervising and mentoring teams
  • Bachelor’s degree, Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft software required
  • Ability to implement strategies for donor engagement while training and mentoring the procurement team
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and work with all levels in professional manner
  • Go-getter, self-motivated, collaborative, understanding, approachable, easy-going with ability to work with
  • diverse personalities

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Collaborating with team leaders to develop annual and long-term procurement plans
  • Maintaining a portfolio of donors, some long-term and some new, including asking for donations, includes local
  • travel
  • Providing mentorship and management for the procurement team, establishing a collaborative culture that
  • places donors’ needs first
  • Creating policies and procedures that ensure a positive donor experience; building steps and processes for
  • donor stewardship, recognition, etc.
  • Managing a comprehensive solicitation, benefits fulfillment and customer service program for all donors:
  • preparing mid-size donors for major-giving tactics and establish long-term loyalty
  • Collaborating with the Director of Development and Marketing Manager in communication with major donors
