Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a creative & dedicated professional to join our team as a Volunteer Program Development & Communications Specialist. As part of the HFHI Global Volunteer Engagement and Support team,this position will support efforts around program design and telling the story of impact in support of Habitat’s strategic plan and for all short term volunteer trips through communications, resource development and internal partnerships. This includes connecting over 15,000 volunteers with clear, timely information that helps to deepen their understanding and involvement with Habitat’s mission. It also includes creating high-quality and interactive resources to enrich the trip journey and help streamline the trip process.
This position can be located in our Administrative Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia or our Operational Headquarters in Americus, Georgia and will require approximately 10% travel.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
** Design of specialty builds and corresponding communications & marketing materials
** Plan program communication calendar each year and coordinate messaging development for annual alerts in order to reach divisional goals and inform stakeholders of program update
** Support GVES department with all manner of internal messaging to ensure timely, impactful, quality communicaitons and creation of volunteer training resources
** Foster relationships and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders such as, the VIE divisional communications team, HFHI Communications, Public Relations and Long Term Volunteering communications teams
** Draft memos, newsletters and presentations on behalf of GVES to team leaders, volunteers and internal stakeholders
** Create resources for volunteers to appropriately and consistely communicate about their short term trip experience and Habitat's mission.
** Complete full audit of existing department resources on annual basis and update or create new content as necessary
** Refine core messaging and manage consistency of communication from department in collaboration with the Specialist of Volunteer Marketing
** Assist with communicaiton needs on any GVES events, including Team Leader trainings, large scale builds and other department events
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
** Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Communications or Marketing
** 2 years experience in Communications, Marketing or Resource Development
** Excellent written and oral communication skills
** Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
** Ability to work independently and as part of a team
** Working knowledge of Microsoft software, internet and basic office equipment
** Ability and desire to learn new computer applications and databases
** Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
** Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
** Basic graphic design knowledge
** Experience working on a communiations team or project
** NGO experience preferred
** Project Management experience preferred
