Gamaliel of Metro Chicago, United Congregations of Metro-East, and Quad Cities Interfaith each seeks to fill an organizing position with an ambitious and hard-working Community Organizer who will be responsible for building a powerful faith and value-based organization in the metropolitan community of Chicago, the East St. Louis metro region and the Quad Cities Region. We seek someone with experience working with communities, who has self-confidence in working in diverse environments; who seeks the opportunity to engage in social justice work; is committed to the development of community leadership; and, has a history of working well with others.

Both these organizations are institutionally based networks of congregations and organizations committed to building community and seeking justice and equity. Our mission is to transform institutions and its members to build the power to address issues most affecting them, like jobs, transportation, affordable housing and immigration reform.

COMPENSATION

The salary is competitive and based on experience. We also provide a benefits package equal to twenty percent of the annual salary. Each position also includes opportunities to be trained and coached in the art of organizing within the Gamaliel Network.
