The Sr. Director of Digital is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive digital marketing strategy and execution for the organization. Strategy includes setting plans for both acquisition of new audiences and retention of existing audiences through a multi-faceted digital approach. This includes strategic and creative development of digital campaigns and properties as well as brand development and enhancement across owned and paid channels. Integration with the direct response teams, including direct mail, DRTV and other areas of organization are vital to success. The Sr. Director of Digital reinforces the dynamics of the digital team and processes and works with stakeholders in the organization. This includes being a member of several cross-functional committees and work groups.
Staff Management
- Provide developmental and strategic direction to staff working in Digital, making sure that staff resources are deployed in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. Ensure the highest possible level of support to our stakeholders.
Digital Property Experience Management & Development
- Lead the effort to develop and enhance our ecosystem of digital properties including a large content site and various applications. Lead development into the app market on third party sites and new platforms.
Marketing Plans
- Oversee the creation and execution of digital marketing plans for all audiences to drive increased donor acquisition, engagement, retention, loyalty and revenue. These include plans for all key campaigns and key moments such as March for Babies, Prematurity Awareness Day, March of Dimes.org, etc. This also includes an emphasis on brand development and reinforcement with target audiences.
Audience Marketing
- Lead and oversee the development and use of a robust digital audience journey mapping and tracking, including all aspects of marketing strategy. Oversee personnel in their development and analysis of the website, social media, digital video, email and online advertising strategies.
Partnership development and enhancement
- Work with colleagues in the organization to develop marketing relationships with partners and sponsors.
Thought Leadership
- Expand organizational capabilities surrounding digital marketing and communications to ensure stakeholders in mission and revenue understand the metrics, strategies, capabilities and latest trends.
- 10-12 years of directly related experience
- Strong understanding of the following:
- Legal issues around digital law (privacy, proprietary code, etc.)
- Metrics and analysis
- Digital technologies and enterprise-level applications
- Experience with e-commerce, social media, web site design and email marketing
- Project management experience
- Management level/supervisory experience
