This Resource Acquisition & Management position will focus primarily on local partnering, proposal coordination and development and donor engagement. The job holder will lead on proposal development for competitive and complex funding opportunities aligned with WV Niger’s strategy. A team player and good communicator, this person will need to establish strong internal and external relationships, working across cross-functional teams. They will lead on local partner and donor analysis, on project start up activities and participate in some interagency meetings.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Proposal development

  • Leads on the development of high-quality proposals and budgets that are relevant and include input from key stakeholders (finance, operations, programs, consortium partners, etc.). This may include leading needs assessments, compiling/editing of the technical narrative, incorporating feedback from a variety of stakeholders, , first draft of required annexes, etc
  • Liaise closely with the HEA and Nutrition team to lead proposal development for bilateral and multilateral donors
  • Work closely with Technical Managers to ensure that WVN’s programmatic success is understood, shared and exploited in grant work

Communication & Knowledge Management

  • Field visits to capture stories, engage with local partners and build RAM capacity in teams
  • Conduct field brainstorming meetings (e.g. co-facilitate program design and lessons learned meetings); synthesize information for technical proposals, competitive positioning, and strategic decision-making
  • Close collaboration with the Communication Coordinator to develop material for external engagement
  • Timely contribution to monthly a/o regional RAM reports
  • Draft/review capacity statements, fact sheets and other branding material to facilitate regular donor communication and updates

Local Partnering & Donor Engagement

  • Coordinate due diligence, plans leading to successful engagement in programming, including partnership analyses
  • Represent WV Niger in external meetings as assigned by Management, document and share back to office reports
  • Research and monitor donor strategies, funding, and regulatory trends and advise Management

Horizon record keeping/reporting

  • Provide surge support to Horizon Team
