Provides day-to-day management of Feeding America’s donor stewardship program. The Manager is responsible for developing content and supporting stewardship opportunities for fund and food donor and partner audiences. The Manager also serves as a writer for communication department, manages production of key organizational reporting publications, and supports the communication needs of food and fundraisers to help achieve Feeding America’s goals. 
 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • In partnership with the Director of Communication and Stewardship, supports the development of donor stewardship strategies; creates or facilitates the production of deliverables according to Feeding America’s donor recognition guidelines for the stewardship of all donors and partners; creates and supports opportunities for donor engagement across Corporate Partnerships, Major Gifts, Foundations, Food Sourcing teams. Serves as the liaison to provide communication support for all fundraisers and food donation teams.
  • Develops content for donor and partner audiences, including writing and managing the production of key organizational materials including the Feeding America Annual Report, four quarterly Impact Reports and a variety of fundraising materials. Provides communication support to Development Team relationship managers by writing and delivering timely, relevant content to support Marketing and Communication campaigns, news and events.  
  • Manage revisions to the Feeding America Master Case for Support. Responsible for supporting the writing, editing and review of materials; coordinating updates with subject matter experts and fundraising consultants; and ensuring integration of organizational messaging and accuracy of data, and training for Development relationship managers.
  • Writes and/or edits Feeding America general content as assigned. Supports the Director of Communication and Donor Stewardship with executive communication, including letters and talking points for donor audiences as needed.
  • Provides oversight and annual management of partner recognition pages on FeedingAmerica.org. Works with the Digital Marketing Team to implement partner giving level changes.
  • Works closely with fundraising consultants and graphic designers to ensure consistent messaging, and editorial and visual brand standards across all Feeding America deliverables.
  • Supports disaster response by providing updates and recognizing donor activation during disasters.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS or relevant experience.  BA in English, Communication, Non-profit management or related field preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of professional writing and project management experience, preferably in a non-profit or academic environment

Required Technical Competencies and Experience

  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills; excellent oral & written communication skills, specifically for interacting with donor communities and senior management. Knowledge and understanding of AP Style.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Personal leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; strong project management skills and a customer service focus, solutions-oriented thinking.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
