The Director of Business and Product Development develops products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, timetables, pricing(ROI), and time-integrated plans for product introduction.
- Determines needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas.
- Assesses market competition by comparing the organization’s products to competitors' products.
- Works with CDO, CMO, and CMHO to develop product sales strategies. Understands the market for improving maternal and infant health.
- Tracks information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses.
- Brings new impact products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules.
- Works with CDO, CMO and CMHO to introduce new products by developing time-integrated plans with development, marketing, and impact.
- Determines impact product pricing by utilizing market research data.
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Responsible for meeting annual corporate fund-raising goals for renewals and new business. Determines needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas. Qualify prospects and design effective partnership programs based upon knowledge of partner business/ CSR objectives and alignment with MOD funding priorities.
- Develop comprehensive solicitation plans and pitches that outline stakeholder involvement and strategic approach for cultivation and solicitation of partner commitment.
- Negotiate deal terms and collaborate with MOD legal and finance teams to ensure compliance.
- Define account-specific strategies that deepen partner engagement with MOD and foster mutually beneficial, sustainable, mission-centered partnerships.
- Implement innovative strategies to position MOD for short and long-term revenue growth including the diversification of the partner industry portfolio and comprehensive solicitations across multiple funding channels.
- Perform other duties from time-to-time in order to ensure the attainment of market financial goals.
- Minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience in increasingly responsible positions with demonstrated success in product development in the maternal and infant health space.
- Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; strong project and time management skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior interpersonal skills; problem resolution skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint specifically
