Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Finance will oversee the fiscal compliance of the Agency including finance, payroll, and grant administration.  The Finance Director supervises staff responsible for each of these areas while ensuring adequate internal controls over the Agency’s fiscal records.  The Finance Director in partnership with Agency Directors will work to develop and facilitate systems and processes related to the administrative functions of the programs such as management of data entry, data maintenance and related reporting, and compliance with program budgets.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • CPA or Master’s degree in Business Administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience);
  • 5+ years of relevant administrative experience in a fast-paced, growing environment, or other relevant experience
  • Proven financial, accounting and budgeting skills, including financial reporting
  • Experience with  Federal Uniform Guidance and MAAP grant compliance
  • Solid understanding and ability to implement and communicate internal controls

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong office or program and project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
  • Outstanding computer skills including expert knowledge of email and calendar systems, Excel, Word, and  PowerPoint
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and prioritize competing tasks and projects
  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate issues, problem-solve and prepare for possibilities
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new situations and learn new information
  • Autonomous motivation to meet deadlines and obligations, and the ability to allocate work amongst staff, assert influence to ensure deadlines are met by staff, and follow up as needed
  • Positive, solutions-driven approach to work and related challenges
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, as a team member and with various stakeholders
  • Understanding of and regard for social work and experience in social service systems
  • Understanding of federal and state homelessness initiatives
