The Evidence and Learning Director is responsible for development and oversight of a strategic overall approach to the role of the project in expanding learning. This includes the translation of evidence into knowledge products including guidance and tools, the convening and engagement of experts along the spectrum of research to practice, policy influence and thought leadership on the basis of evidence and learning, the monitoring of progress against existing USAID/ED learning agendas, and the management and oversight of the contract’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan.
- S/he will apply experience in the area of research, synthesis, and knowledge management related to the priorities of the 2018 USAID Education Policy.
- S/he will support investigation of promising approaches and explores related issues such as cost effectiveness, overall efficacy and implications and lessons learned regarding institutionalization, scale, and sustainability.
- S/he will lead the interaction with other USAID partners working in primary and secondary research, and coordination of research efforts by other partners. Manages development, curation, and production of knowledge products. Supports dissemination and use of new knowledge.
- S/he will collaborate with management team to support capacity development with USAID staff, IPs, and associated working groups.
- Supervisory experience and remote management of teams required.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating the development, implementation and effective communication and utilization of evidence and knowledge agendas by a range of practitioners and organizations.
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in research or programs in education or related areas, preferably in areas closely related to the 2018 USAID Education policy.
- Minimum of three years’ experience developing and managing education, development or humanitarian research programs or networks desired.
- Wide range of publications and conference presentations desired.
- Candidates speaking French, Spanish, or Arabic in addition to English preferred.
