The DME Assistant will support the Area Programme(AP) Manager in effective design, monitoring and evaluation of the projects in order to measure impact and share learning. The position will also conduct/ facilitate a situation analysis, develop and maintain monitoring systems for the project/ programmes, carry out monitoring visits and prepare field reports. He/She will support the AP MEAL Coordinator in developing databases, gather monitoring evidence and examine requirements in meeting established quality standards.

The position will also maintain good relationship with internal and external partners including national office, support officers, donors, sponsors, other NGO’s, Professional agencies and Government Agencies and coordinate logistical requirements for monitoring & evaluation assessments. The DME Assistant will ensure accurate and timely submission of all relevant reports & to be able to design and develop relevant systems in order to improve the quality of programmes.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor Degree in social Sciences/ Development Management/ International Development or any other relevant field or
Diploma in social Sciences/ Development Management/ International Development or other relevant field
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis using SPSS, SAS, Minitab or equivalent and database management
  • Knowledge & experience on development of qualitative data collection methods and analysis skills
  • Data handling skills (classification, categorizing, tabulation etc.) and demonstrates diligence in data analysis and management
  • Understand poverty issues, development theories and holistic development
  • Training and Facilitation skills with proven ability in working well in a team with good collaboration skills
  • Knowledge & experience on social research and process
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, including training development and delivery
  • Good Interpersonal skills and able to work in a team and be prepared to train the others
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of working experience in community development
