The American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA), selected over the last six years as one of the best Nonprofits to work for (#3 in 2015) has an excellent opportunity for a Customer Care Representative II in our National Engagement Center office located in Richardson, TX. The pay rate for this position is $16.50/hr and the start date will be Monday, July 15th.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Respond to customer inquiries and problems by telephone about heart disease, stroke, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes, charitable estate planning direct marketing and revenue programs while maintaining a high level of productivity based on performance goals.
- Provide information in response to questions about healthy living, advocacy, charitable estate planning, direct marketing, local office referral, revenue programs, science, stroke, and CPR while maintaining a high level of productivity based on standards and performance goals.
- Cultivate customer and partner relationships by promoting AHA/ASA programs.
- Provide information to develop and change the customer’s mindset and behaviors regarding cardiovascular disease and stroke that will build relationships and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Create conversations that encourages customers to donate to the organization, thus contributing to revenue generation and long-lasting donor relationships. Customer calls are non-routine, non-scripted that often require Internet research and personalized responses. Conversations may include inside sales to promote AHA revenue generation activities.
- Input customer information into a Microsoft Dynamics database.
Educational Background:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Skills/Experience:
- At least six months’ customer service or call center experience, including managing accounts/clients, demonstrating strong customer satisfaction focus; a passion to help others in a similar environment, as well as proven experience thriving in a high call volume work environment.
- Demonstrated multi-tasking efficiency in computer and internet navigation, managing multiple resources including a variety of websites, data entry screens, resource guides and contact interaction applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Superior listening skills, adept at probing and questioning to uncover caller’s underlying needs in a sensitive manner.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Ability to read and understand procedures and manuals.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to delight our customers.
- Must be able to worka flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed. A schedule may start as early as 6:45am or end as late as 9:15pm.
Preferred skills:
- College degree, preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is highly desired
- Interest andknowledge in health, fitness or nutrition.
- Familiarity withmedical terminology and pronunciation.
- Knowledge of theAmerican Heart Association and the American Stroke Association
