This position is responsible for the implementation of one Walk to End Alzheimer's event and one Dancing Stars event and their wrap around events to meet or exceed the budgeted goals through volunteer recruitment and engagement as well as through corporate development. Measurable outcomes for this position include: achieving designated financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, community partnerships, as well as increasing brand awareness and visibility in the community. Based in Macon, Georgia, this position requires frequent travel within the assigned territory.
Direct responsibility for consistent implementation of development event(s) to meet or exceed the budgeted goals within an assigned territory
- Manages volunteer recruitment, participation, and ongoing relationship building, to ensure successful outcomes of assigned Events. Must convey motivation, team building, enthusiasm, diplomacy, professionalism, gratitude
- Conducts effective and regular meetings to motivate volunteers and achieve goals within a defined timeframe
- Works in partnership with volunteers to identify and secure sponsors for events
- Works in partnership with volunteers to identify and generate event attendees
- Provides needed and timely information to support Communications plan
- Provides training and education to volunteers for day of event
- Provides ongoing stewardship to all volunteers, participants and sponsors to assure high satisfaction and retention
- Responsible for tracking and staying within a defined expense budget with detail and timeliness
- Responsible for tracking of revenue and sales per chapter guidelines with detail and timeliness
- Work with Senior Director to assist in the creation and implementation of additional Events within an assigned territory in order to meet the budgeted objectives of the Alzheimer's Association Strategic Plan
- Responsible for shared administrative duties for the service area office
Responsible for accurate and timely reporting on the progress of all assigned Development Events to the Senior Director of Development
- Responsible for recordkeeping and data management for assigned Events per statewide protocols
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by Senior Director
- Actively Participates in team and personal development
- Regularly attends team meetings to share ideas and solutions to improve events
- Attends development team meetings for annual planning purposes
- Participates in regional and Chapter meetings as needed
- Actively partners with local based staff to promote the mission and SIP of the
- Association
- Complies with all national and local accounting and HR policies and procedures
- Actively participates in learning opportunities for professional and self improvement
- Minimum of three years' successful non-profit fund raising, volunteer and event management
- Demonstrated success in managing relationship based fundraising events and initiatives
- Demonstrated success in managing committees, volunteers and vendors
- Strong and proven verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, Social Media and experience with Convio software extremely helpful
- Willingness and ability to travel within Georgia, occasional evening and
- weekend work
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
