Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is recruiting a Long-Term Recovery Support Specialist to support its Habitat Hammers Back recovery team and projects. This position is responsible for coordinating the support services essential to the functioning and effective implementation of long-term recovery programmatic activities.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Project Coordination:

  • Maintains Habitat Hammers Back team plan and updates
  • Manages special projects as necessary
  • Support the identification and monitoring of partnerships within the long-term recovery program

Communications:

  • Work with other HFHI teams to promote a long-term recovery communication strategy with the goal of an informative and engaging tone and content
  • Coordinates communication needs for long-term recovery entities, including reporting requests and monthly newsletters (includes updates to US Office and Affiliate Support Center, including newsletters)
  • Support in the creation of collateral materials for the long-term recovery team (i.e. ppt, briefings, etc.

Resource Development:

  • Acts as liaison between long-term recovery funding needs, donor commitments and reporting requirements between the HFHI RD team and affiliate community
  • Assists in creating and coordinating collateral needed by the RD team

Affiliate Support:

  • Support HFHI volunteers that engage with long-term recovery affiliates
  • Assist efforts between VIE and affiliated community
  • Helps to identify long-term recovery affiliate volunteer needs and matches with RD donor volunteers, VIE and Care-a-vaners
  • With the assistance of all pertinent HFHI teams, coordinate and support the affiliated community in terms of long-term disaster recovery
  • Create and maintain case management system and protocol
  • Identify affiliate needs in long-term recovery context and coordinates specialized support
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Information Management, Project Management or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • 4+ years of experience with project management or related roles
  • 1+ year experience working in a disaster response setting strongly preferred
  • Experience in non-profit program management strongly preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a team to accomplish a mission.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to take initiative and work with little supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
