The Acquisition and Lead Generation team works to identify and acquire new donors and supporters for the agency enabling us to create lasting change for children around the world. Lead Generation is a part of a strategic shift in focus for Save the Children empowering us to seek long term supporters by bringing in qualified leads to the organization who have the potential to become loyal financial supporters.
Under the supervision of the Director of Acquisition, the Associate Director of Lead Generation will cultivate and advance Save the Children’s Digital Acquisition and Lead Generation strategies by driving qualified leads and digital revenue in order to help realize our goal of reaching 1 Million supporters by 2020. This position will serve as lead on ambitious and innovative marketing strategies and tactics in order to bring Save the Children to the forefront of marketing innovation. Strong cross-functional team work will be an integral part of this highly visible role within the organization.
Strategy, Budgeting and Planning (40%)
- Develop strategic plan for qualified Lead Generation and audience development tactics across the organization including cultivation efforts, conversion opportunities and journey mapping
- Optimize and plan digital marketing activities across channels (SEM, Programmatic, Display, Social, High Impact, etc.) for all fundraising priorities and giving opportunities including mission support, gift catalog, recurring donations and child sponsorship
- Lead on building new lead generation channels and opportunities to ensure diversification and ROI
- Benchmark with peer agencies and international members to document key learnings and best practices
- Develop and establish yearly budgets and re-forecasts
- Monitor and track expense budget to ensure effective spending
Cross Organizational Development (20%)
- Work cross-functionality and in concert with ITBS, Web Production and others to develop infrastructure and identify fixes in technology gaps for Lead Generation Capture capabilities both online and offline
- Collaborate across the organization to identify and implement Lead Generation opportunities, partnerships and tactics with both internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as the Acquisition and Lead Generation team lead and act as a key internal stakeholder on the digital, email, mobile and telemarketing teams to drive marketing integration and consistency across channels to ensure fundraising success
Team and Vendor Management (15%)
- Manage and develop staff providing them with leadership, strategic guidance and direction
- Provide on-going supervision, mentorship and guidance to all team members to achieve departmental goals, assure staff retention and continue to achieve strong team cohesiveness
- Work with outside vendors in the digital acquisition and marketing space in order to implement and optimize organization wide goals and priorities including creative oversight, contract negotiations and scopes of work
Learning and Professional Development (15%)
- Dedicate time to researching best practices, benchmarking and strategic innovations to remain on the forefront
- Foster and develop relationships with peer agencies and international Save the Children members who are thought leaders in the space
- Attend conferences and workshops for continuous learning
Reporting and Measurement (10%)
- Develop and present actionable reports to benchmark and measure effectiveness of Digital Acquisitions and Lead Generation tactics
- Analyze results to continually optimize programs and tactics based on key performance indicators
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in digital and cross channel marketing
- Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience
- Strong level of technical and/or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to direct the operational activities of a unit or team, or provide technical advice, guidance and management related to various size programs, grants or projects.
