And that day is drawing nearer.The Manager, Event Email Marketing manages and delivers the American Cancer Society’s Email marketing campaigns that generate revenue, support event registration, and provide mission delivery content to ACS event audiences (Relay For Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer MSABC, Gala/Golf, etc.)This individual will collaborate with Event Business Leads and the Senior Director, Direct Marketing & Email for their overall vision and direction of the organization’s event email marketing strategy. The Manager, Email Marketing will directly manage two Email Marketing staff, overseeing daily execution and implementation of email campaigns through the Luminate/Blackbaud and Informz platforms. • Develop communication plan and calendar that effectively recruits, engages, and inspires event participants to achieve maximum fundraising and event success. • Work with other marketing channel leads and campaigns to deliver a cohesive experience to American Cancer Society event constituents. • Work with digital strategy leads and local event staff to schedule emails to most effectively reach audiences while coordinating with other organizational email and marketing plans.• Develop and implement overall ACS email strategy to consolidate existing offerings, grow partnerships, and generate incremental revenue with a national and global reach, including corporate partnerships.• Directly supervise two Email marketing staff, providing daily oversight of campaign execution.• Act as email marketing subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal teams and business units on creative assets and segmentation for Email communication requests. • Manage ad hoc email requests, and work closely with local staff and/or volunteers to assist with strategy or implementation of localized email communications.• Review nationwide Email messages, make recommendations and triage issues, concerns and obtain final approval from Event Business Leads and Senior Director, Email & Direct Marketing as necessary.• Work closely with Analysts to gather, consolidate and organize Email testing data from Email performance results to build and maintain benchmarks and testing repository.• Continuously identify methods to improve team processes in order to decrease operational expenses and improve internal team eficienciesPosition Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field.• Expert understanding of campaign management and Email service provider tools, as well as a proficient understanding of Email performance metrics and benchmarks.• Working knowledge of all areas of Marketing Communications including creative project management, public relations, etc.• Advanced writing, editing, proofreading skills and presentation skills; high attention to detail.• Track record of managing a multi-faceted marketing projects.Other Special Requirements or Skills:• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, plus experience of using these skills in leading, motivating and inspiring cross-functional teams and direct reports.• Proven success integrating resources across complex functions and across multiple geographies.• Project management experience in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of marketing techniques and strategies used with customers/constituents. • Ability to work with varying levels of internal constituents and develop communication for various internal levels. • Ability to manage multiple ad hoc and long-term projects simultaneously.• 4-6+ years marketing experience with project management focus or relative experience.• Working knowledge of CRM Tools and/or Blackbaud.• Working knowledge of Google Analytics• Experience using project management tools like Basecamp or TFS• Experience with multiple Email marketing platforms (full service and self-service).• Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other project management and presentation applications.We are committed to providing staff with fulfilling opportunities to learn, grow and make an impact in their local communities.
