Provide financial support to the Financial Accounting Unit (FAU) and coach direct reports especially on continuous improvement activities.
Financial Accounting Responsibilities
- Proactively plan, manage and drive a robust balance sheet review process. Apply judgement and initiative in the design and implementation of the process, influencing and obtaining engagement from stakeholders across the organisation and making decisions around focus to balance accuracy, materiality and cost. A robust balance sheet will result in fuller and more accurate data for decision making.
- Lead all FAU activities associated with transactional financial service delivery to the organisation i.e. purchase and sales ledger, WV interoffice transactions and business expenses.
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery and achievement of agreed service levels. This shall be achieved through capacity planning, organisational policy development and maintenance, process review and improvement, supervising and coaching of reports and influencing/education of stakeholders.
- Driving accuracy and timeliness of information recorded by members of the FAU to enable effective reporting by the management accounting team for quarterly reporting purposes.
Line Management Responsibilities
- Line management, spiritual nurture and performance management of 2 direct reports. Leadership role in the FAU to inspire, motivate, coordinate, train, and provide prioritisation, escalating issues to the Financial Controller where appropriate.
- Reflect the organisation’s Christian values in a leadership role and apply own Christian faith in day to day work situations.
- Actively support FAU activities in continuous improvement activities, planning and coordination and execution.
Other Responsibilities
- Cover for Senior Financial Accountant and Treasury and Systems Accountant when necessary.
- Employee expenses management as we embed the new process following the implementation of the new electronic expense solution.
