The Legacy Club Coordinator works on a variety of projects in support of approved tactics to steward and engage Legacy Club donors. Legacy Club members have made a gift which will benefit The Nature Conservancy in the future, usually after the donor’s lifetime. The Conservancy currently has more than 24,000 Legacy Club members in the United States and around the world.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Helps to coordinate and implement the daily program objectives of The Legacy Club, a recognition society for planned gift donors. Facilitates communication with individual Legacy Club members and fundraising staff around the organization. Implements outreach and communications strategies, including written, phone and face-to-face communications. Uses the constituent relationship management system (Blackbaud CRM) to update donor contact information and preferences, record multiple interactions with individual donors, produce reports and research and perform analysis. With the Legacy Club Manager and Legacy Club Donor Managers, works to implement and improve Legacy Club stewardship programs throughout the organization and accurately measure the success of evolving strategies. Works closely with key donors and staff and will act as an advisor and knowledge source for field personnel as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise volunteers, interns or temporary staff.
- Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.
- Financial responsibility may include working within a budget, purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget tracking.
- Refers difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisor.
- Serve as a team member for assigned projects.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
- Work overtime as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and 1year experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience in business writing, editing and proofreading.
- Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
- Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
- Experience with handling customer service issues.
- Experience working with databases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Customer Services or hospitality experience helpful.
- Comfort working with donors/customers over the phone.
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems.
- Ability to apply research skills.
- Ability to write and edit written materials for use with member communications and correspondence.
- Database skills, including managing data and tracking prospects.
- Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.
- Multilingual skills and multicultural experiences appreciated.
