The Alumni Engagement Specialist will support the Chief of Party in overseeing project implementation and will provide technical and management leadership to the alumni component of the project.  S/he will develop and lead alumni engagement efforts and will supervise project staff to ensure that alumni activities are completed in a timely manner and are of high technical quality. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide technical and management leadership, develop technical strategies and oversee the design and implementation of alumni activities in coordination with project technical experts.
  • Oversee the quality of all technical aspects of the alumni component.
  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of work plans, and M&E plans.
  • Establish relationships with key project stakeholders and manage coordination with alumni and relevant local institutions.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with USG programming, including USAID preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging social media platforms, relevant to Burma.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, consultants, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of programs required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, creative problem solving, and ability to mentor staff required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Burmese required.
