The Development Coordinator will aid in the logistical and administrative aspects of the Detroit Walk to End Alzheimer's event as well as other Walk events across the state. The Development Coordinator will report to the Event Director.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist in implementation of the Walk to End Alzheimer's event in Metro Detroit and throughout the state as needed
- Manage all aspects of event data for Convio/Luminate software program
- Provide support to key volunteers and participants for Walk to End Alzheimer's event
- Assist in the recruitment of corporate, individual and team sponsorships, including follow-up phone calls, meetings and speaking opportunities to promote event participation
- Manage Walk Community Websites through Convio/Luminate
- Execute the inventory and ordering of event supplies
- Assist on the day-of logistics and needs
- Ability to analyze specific information and make necessary recommendations
- Assist supervisor as needed
Educational Background:
Degree preferred in a related field or equivalent work and education experience
Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of event planning and logistics
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and Google Suite
- Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Experience with constituent management databases
- Volunteer coordination experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize
- Ability to work effectively with all types of individuals
- Normal to fast paced office environment
- High volume of computer work
- Work may be stressful at times
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Requires additional hours surrounding events
- Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties
- Ability to work independently
