Provides technical leadership to those designing, and implementing technical strategies, programs or tools in health accreditation and health provider regulation (registration and licensing). Provides technical advice based upon expertise and knowledge of evidence-based methods and strategies, current practice, and established operational standards to ensure quality implementation. Builds capacity in accreditation, healthcare regulation of in country-level staff. Provides guidance to ensure that accreditation and healthcare regulation implementation adheres to appropriate technical standards and guidelines. Responsible for sharing best practices in their field of accreditation and healthcare regulation through participation in scientific forums and technical networks. Shares new knowledge/evidence and best practices in healthcare accreditation and regulation through collaboration with relevant departments and personnel.
- Work with the RGC and professional councils to develop and enforce regulations, laws, and policies for licensing and accreditation of public and private health professionals and facilities
- Develop and implement pilots for monitoring the quality of services tied to licensing health providers (public and private), and scale up based on recommendations
- Develop systems for professional councils and MOH to monitor registration and licensing requirements
- Assist professional councils and MOH to implement improved regulations, licensing, and accreditation systems for both the public and private health sectors
- Build capacities of health care professionals / health associations to comply with the national quality standards and regulatory requirements
