Under the direction of the CEO, the Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing a plan for successful support campaigns and special events in Southington while assisting and implementing planned giving strategies, maintaining current grants, and support work with United Way and other charitable foundations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Work with the CEO to plan and conduct all aspects of the Annual Support Campaign
- Conduct Special Fundraising Events: Forever in Blue Jeans, Sloper Plunge, Pilgrim Furniture Golf Tournament, Sloper Scholarship Charity Night, Race4Chase, LiveSTRONG at the Y and other YMCA special events
- Conduct campaign trainings for staff and volunteers
- Nurture and grow relationships within the community
- Conduct public speaking engagements within the community
- Assist the CEO in preparing the annual United Way proposal
- Coordinate and schedule Development committee meetings
- Assist CEO with the endowment development and planned giving strategies
- Work with Marketing Director to ensure our work is well promoted in the community
- Assist with friend-raising and volunteer development
Educational Background:
The qualified candidate should possess a four-year college degree in a related field.
Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in fundraising and special events planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading teams of staff and volunteers
- Proven results in fundraising, grant writing, annual giving campaigns and event planning
- Budgetary experience and sound fiscal management skills
- Able to build community relationships and collaborations
- Experience with capital campaigns preferred
- Preferred candidates would reside in or within close proximity to Southington
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $57,000.00 - $61,000.00
