Program Coordinator, Global Marketing

We seek someone who is dedicated to supporting the Global Marketing team to address the health needs of our clients around the world through a commitment to shaping markets, using cutting-edge evidence for social and behavior change, marketing financial discipline and pioneering new social enterprise models. The ideal PC combines the management and organizational skills of a program manager with the analysis and financial chops of a financial analyst.

The PC will be responsible for supporting specific marketing and SBC projects, including SHOPS Plus and the Ignite project, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since PSI/Europe plays a significant role in the Ignite project, it is expected that the PC will act as the liaison between PSI’s headquarters and PSI/Europe, to facilitate administrative and financial matters pertaining to the relationships between both entities. The PC will also provide financial and administrative support for Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus project. The PC will also assist in general management and financial support for the marketing team as well as be responsible for budgets for new business development. This full-time position is based in Washington, D.C.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Program Management

  • The PC will assist with monitoring performance, efficiency and effectiveness of various projects. This may include support for the development of workplans, coordination for major project meetings, review and editing donor reports and liaising with PSI internal departments on behalf of the project leadership. The role will also help in identifying gaps between program implementation and financial standing to improve the overall performance of the programs.  In support of the marketing team, the PC will be responsible for managing the budget, monitoring and updating the department labor tracker, coordinating consultant contracts and other necessary functions as needed.

Communication and knowledge sharing

  • The PC will work closely with project leadership to produce communication outputs for the different projects. It can include blog posts, meeting reports, providing input into infographics, setting up and managing SharePoint sites, etc. The role also involves sharing and managing knowledge related to projects, in close collaboration with relevant teams in Washington, DC.

Monitor financial performance

  • The PC will be responsible for monitoring the overall financial health of assigned projects, including managing budgets, analyzing country and project burn rates across relevant projects, highlighting possible problem areas and providing recommendations for corrective action, preparation and review of donor budgets and monitoring their implementation in close collaboration regional Financial Advisor(s). The PC will also review and process invoices as needed.

Subaward monitoring

  • The PC will monitor and review subaward partner reports, review and process subaward invoices, recommend corrective actions and work closely with the Grants & Contracts department to ensure tools for monitoring of subawards are utilized for effective project monitoring.
Educational Background: 
Relevant undergraduate degree. Graduate degree in a relevant subject (MPH, MBA, etc.) preferable

Our ideal candidate will possess: 

  • At least two years of experience working in program management, subaward management or a related field, or developing country working experience required.
  • Familiar with Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and strong analytical/problem solving capabilities;
  • Proficiency in word processing, excel spreadsheet software and basic data analysis required;
  • Knowledge of USAID, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Global Fund, World Bank and the international donor community;
  • Experience with accounting software;
  • Previous experience in supporting international development projects managing major donor budgets is a strong advantage;
  • Superior communications skills, verbal and written, including the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels;
  • Social media savvy;
  • French language skills a plus;
  • Experience as in PSI preferred;
  • Willingness to travel.
  • References will be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.  N.B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship and relocation expenses will not be covered for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
