The project coordinator will facilitate in a province (either East or North) the implementation of the ‘Small Business Dairy Development Project in North Sri Lanka’ which is expected to increase the livelihood of milk farmers and milk producing small businesses in the target areas in the north and east of Sri Lanka.

Under the direct supervisor of Project Manager and overall supervisor of Zonal Manager/Director, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of this project in collaboration/partnership with the public and private companies, local communities and other stakeholders.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide support to the implementation of project.
  • In collaboration with relevant technical units, develop implementation models, delivery mechanism and approaches.
  • Internal & External Liaison & Networking with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular coordination, meetings with communities, relevant government department, AP teams and other partners.
  • Monitor progress of all outputs and contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual project reports (narrative and financial) in line with WV and donor requirements.
  • Contribute to Implement the WVL Strategic Plan by demonstrating an understanding of and commitment to the strategic directions of WVL.
  • Adhere to World Vision Core Values by demonstrating an understanding of and commitment to the strategic directions of WVL.
Educational Background: 
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Social Sciences or equivalent in experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least three years’ work experience in similar position
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A good understanding of the local context
  • Experience in working with children
  • Ability to ride a motor bike with a valid ridding license
  • A Team player with good interpersonal skills & able to work well with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in community development, livelihood, infrastructure and capacity building of Civil Society Organizations and Local Authorities
  • Skilled in project implementation and knowledge
  • Knowledge and Experience in handling EU projects
  • Mobilization and Facilitation skills

Travel/ Work Environment Applicable

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability and willingness to live and work in remote areas and travel extensively
  • Willingness for continuous learning adaptability due to frequent new initiatives and changes
  • Ability to work in stressful environments with physical hardship conditions with limited resources
