World Vision’s global strategy, OurPromise 2030, seeks to scale up our work in fragile contexts. While WV has already been working in fragile contexts for some time, we haven’t always fully captured and communicated the evidence of impact we are having in those contexts.

The Evidence Building Team is leading the evidence workstream for Strategic Initiative 1.1 (Fragile Context). One key deliverable is to carry out a systematic review of existing evidence from our top ten fragile context offices. This review should provide an overview of the impact WV has been making in these 10 fragile context offices, provide insights for leadership and the organization, and contribute to marketing materials aimed at raising funds for fragile context programming.

This position is focused on carrying out a systematic review of existing evidence documents to produce a meta review summary of impact for our top ten fragile context offices.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Key Tasks:

  • Review existing evaluations, annual reports, donor reports and other documents.
  • Carry out a systematic review of these documents using software provided.
  • Summarize the key findings and insights based on strategic domains.
  • Incorporate FCPA principles during the review as possible.
  • Incorporate aggregate statistics from Impact reports, CWB Summary, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review evidence documents, including annual reports, donor reports, evaluations, etc.
  • Review and summarize “Levels of Evidence” from each priority Project Model.
  • Incorporate aggregate statistics from Impact reports, CWB Summary, etc.
Educational Background: 
Master’s degree with a strong research emphasis in a relevant discipline.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in research or evaluation roles, working with multiple projects in international organisations.
  • Ability to read, assess quality and interpret research documents and statistical data.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical writing, and in effectively translating technical writing for lay audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work across cultures, demonstrated experience of influence of non-reporting relationships and authority.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with many different functions, cultures and levels in the organisation (orally and in writing.). Fluency in English.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline of our core sectors (Health, Education, Livelihoods, Child Protection).
  • Training or courses taken in Social research methods.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position may require ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
