The MEAL Coordinator is a member of the Programs Team and supports the overall Quality and Design of Save the Children's programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Monitoring:
- Support program teams in updating the output tracker which tracks program achievement.
- Ensure the quality of reporting data and verify data and information from sources periodically on a sample basis.
- Lead of development of data collection tools for programs teams, ensuring that data collection tools are linked to data reporting requirements of donors.
- Disseminate information (monitoring reports, complaints feedback mechanism database) with Deputy Team Leader- Programs
- Any other tasks given by line manager
- Evaluation:
- Support evaluation teams when conducting donor project evaluations.
- Assist Programs teams in preparing and conducting baseline studies.
- Any other tasks given by line manager
- Accountability:
- Ensure the Complaint Feedback Mechanisms (CFM) are functional and accessible to beneficiaries.
- Support data entry and analysis of complaints in monthly accountability reporting
- Any other tasks given by line manager
- Learning:
- Deputy Team Leader-Programs in compiling lessons learned reports.
- Any other tasks given by line manager
- Use of Technology
- Lead on electronic data collection using KOBO platform
- Train programs and distribution staff on data collection using electronic platforms.
- Data entry of all program data using a provided database;
- Conducting basic analysis of collated data for reporting purposes;
- Management of the database
- Any other tasks given by line manager.
Educational Background:
High School through Associate Degree or Technical/Vocational Degree
Skills/Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience required in area of expertise.
- Demonstrable statistical analysis experience
- Trained in data management and with at least six months experience working with Excel managing databases
- Experience creating and using online data collection forms
- Experience working through systems of community participation and accountability
- Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills, including planning/participating in evaluations
- Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
Preferred Qualifications
- You have a college/ advanced degree in related area
- Experience using the KOBO toolkit and KOBO Maps
- Previous emergency response experience
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
