Planned Parenthood of New York City is seeking a full-time Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our Education and Training team. This position is based at our Administrative Office located at 26 Bleecker Street, New York, New York 10012.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages professional development and organizational capacity building programs, working with the Senior Director of Adult & Professional Programs and the Director of Adult & Professional Programs.
  • Manages projects that provide training and capacity building to individuals, organizations, and institutions throughout the city and beyond in an effort to strengthen their sexual and reproductive health knowledge, skills, and programs.
  • Works with the Adult & Professional Programs team to develop and facilitate professional trainings, provide technical assistance to partners, develop educational tools and materials, and monitor program progress in meeting deliverables. 
  • Assists with marketing and development of fee-for-service trainings to interested organizations.
  • Collects data as needed, assists in writing funder reports, and participates in the development and management of new projects for professionals.
  • Supervises and supports the Professional Programs Coordinator.
  • Works closely with Adult & Professional Programs staff to ensure collaboration across the team and provide programmatic support to Adult & Professional programs as needed. 
Educational Background: 
Requires an ability equal to that usually derived from satisfactory completion of courses required for graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree preferred, in a related health field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Requires three (3) to four (4) years of related and/or applicable experience.
  • Strong training and exceptional interpersonal skills a must, as well as advanced knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues.
  • Curriculum development experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and application preferred.
  • Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently and within a team, and have a positive attitude.
  • Candidate will be representing the agency to high-level partners and must demonstrate high levels of professionalism and judgement.
  • Knowledge of New York City non-profits and governmental institutions and systems (e.g., child welfare, education system) desired.
