As a U.S. Advocacy Campaign Intern, you will support Habitat for Humanity’s first-ever U.S. national advocacy campaign. Today, 1-in- 6 U.S. households pays half or more of their income on a place to live. That is unacceptable. Through the five-year campaign, we commit to mobilizing our local Habitat organizations, our partners, our volunteers and community members across the country to find the solutions and help create the policies that will allow 10 million individuals to meet their most basic needs. The campaign, launching in June 2019, will influence policies and systems at local, state, and national levels to improve housing affordability for low-income Americans. It will elevate the issue of home affordability, inform and mobilize advocates, build the advocacy capacity of U.S. Habitat affiliates, influence federal housing policy and mobilize resources to support its implementation.
