The Network Admin will ensure the stability, integrity and performance of the National HQ office in Arlington VA.  This will be achieved through monitoring, maintenance, support, troubleshooting and optimization of all LANs, WANs, WIFI, network security services, and desktop support at HQ.  Success in this role demands not only technical expertise, but also excellent organizational skills and discipline in order to effectively and efficiently maintain focus while successfully managing multiple parallel projects and activities.  Strong customer service, executive level support experience, and must be able to work independently with high level of accountability.

Areas of Responsibility: 

HQ Support

  • Provide desktop support to staff in HQ office.
  • Identifies, records, and tracks known errors, problems and associated workarounds and solutions
  • Video conferencing support
  • Perform system upgrades as required
  • AD Account requests

HQ Maintenance and Monitoring

  • Document networks and provide capacity planning solutions
  • Proactively recommends and performs performance tuning and optimization activities which maximize efficient use of existing network
  • Escalates design flaws to Enterprise Engineering team and assists with resolution as required
  • Performs ongoing monitoring, analysis, trending and reporting of current resource utilization levels and projects future requirements using trends and thresholds for planning upgrades and enhancements.
  • Ensures management is aware of all known and identified risks to system availability, performance, reliability, and security.

HQ Strategy and Planning

  • Provide training on new and current technologies for HQ staff
  • Accurately maintains, documents and regularly reports on relevant hardware & software sunset dates
  • Perform analysis and trending of data and storage networking resource use patterns and collaborates with appropriate stakeholders and department leaders to assess near- and long-term capacity needs
  • Collaborates with engineering team in identifying new technology initiatives, standards & major changes or upgrades to HQ network infrastructure
  • Identify gaps and risks for overall stability of HQ office
  • Provide coverage for all off site travel through the calendar year to ensure the executive team is sufficiently supported
Educational Background: 
Four year college degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5-7 years experience
  • General work experience
  • Project management
  • High customer service skill set is key
