Our Los Angeles Division currently has an excellent job opportunity for a Vice President, Heart Walk. As the Vice President, you will lead and develop a high performing staff team, as well as recruit and manage C-level volunteers in the planning, management and implementation of the Heart Walk campaign throughout Los Angeles County with a $2.4M net revenue goal.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages the overall Los Angeles Heart Walk Campaign according to AHA best practices to achieve the overall net fundraising goal
  • Manages and coaches a high performing staff team
  • Recruits, trains and manages C-level volunteer leadership
  • Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and management of corporate accounts
  • Develops and oversees year-round pipelines and cultivation plans for sustained volunteer leadership and corporate account management.
  • Direct oversight of the overall Heart Walk operations in accordance with expense and event guidelines.
  • Oversees additional event/activities as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years successful experience in fundraising/development or related sales
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, recruiting and managing C-level volunteers
  • Proven experience in managing high performing staff teams
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results through highly effective relationship-building skills and a proven track record in achieving aggressive sales/fundraising goals
  • Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed (10-15 face to face meeting weekly)
  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Identifying and closing high level cash sponsorship
