In this pilot role, is responsible for the successful launch of the #GoldTogether Initiative nationally in all six regions. This includes but is not limited to providing staff and community leadership, coaching, support and training. Accountable for aggressive first year income targets as well as Initiative- related mission and advocacy activities. Ensures engagement and mobilization of diverse constituents and volunteers in a prioritized and coordinated way as a key foundational element to ensuring established regional and national objectives are met. Responsible for development and management of a major gifts portfolio and corporate sponsors as Initiative expands. This will be developed through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of effective relationships with volunteers, board members, corporate leaders, foundations, current and prospective donors. Through effective portfolio management, qualifies and secures funding from donors capable of giving $100k to $1m+ and ensures donor retention upgrade strategies are successfully executed as Initiative expands.
- Accountable for ensuring the achievement of income performance targets for community-based fundraising events and develops new revenue. With expansion from regional focus to national focus, will ensure successful launch of 10-15 teams per region.
- Manages, coaches and develops community development execution staff.
- Serves as the primary relationship manager for targeted accounts and priority relationships.
- Provides necessary hands on training, coaching and support with a focus on community organization and relationship building; supports key teams/volunteer recruitment and relationship management.
- Drives community revenue through customer-centric and innovative strategies
- Monitors financial expenditures and progress against budgetary plan and takes appropriate measures to meet top line and bottom line goals ensuring a high ROI in meeting revenue targets.
- Responsible for annual budgeting and forecasting. Ensures compliance with ACS policies, including risk management, event and cash handling and financial controls.
- Ensures effective stewardship of key volunteer and donor relationships.
- Models volunteer/staff partnership through support of volunteer leadership groups, comprised of highly engaged, community influencers accountable for driving market priorities and goals.
- Provides leadership and planning guidance for the engagement of the community in events to drive increased event participation.
- Works in partnership with Cancer Control for achievement of identified event-related mission goals, including enterprise wide initiatives; works with hospital systems staff to ensure coordination when engaging hospital systems.
- Analyzes customer experience results and ensures a strategy to increase customer satisfaction is developed and implemented.
- Executes against a region strategy for corporate engagement, focused on renewing/enhancing previous engagement and developing new relationships with target corporations to achieve revenue and mission targets.
- Serves as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of priority corporations, corporate foundations, CEOs, C-Suite executives and other high impact individuals with responsibility for prospect research, recruitment, cultivation, and retention
- Secure major gifts ranging from $100k to $1m.
- Secure a minimum of $100,000 in corporate sponsorship.
- Secure a minimum of $600,000 in #GoldTogether RFL team fundraising
- Build relationships with volunteers, board members, corporate representatives, foundations and current and prospective donors toward qualifying and building a caseload of donors; leverages volunteers and corporate partners as door openers and relationship builders to achieve income and mission goals
- Builds strong relationships and directly collaborates with staff within the Distinguished Partners team to leverage external affiliations and accomplish shared goals.
- Collaborates with each region’s Community Development, Cancer Control, Business Planning & Operations, Communications/Marketing and ACS CAN staff to ensure coordinated and interdependent achievement of each region’s goals. ports ACS CAN strategies by leveraging corporate and foundation relationships.

- Successful track record of securing 6, 7, and 8 figure gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.
- Strong working knowledge of the major gifts area; campaign experience preferred
- Strong sales background and knowledge of product marketing/sales concepts.
- Strong financial acumen.
- The ability to be an ambassador for the American Cancer Society.
