Senior Adolescent Programming Specialist

As the global technical expert for adolescent programming, this role provides strategic leadership that influences the quality and impact of adolescent programming globally. It provides technical leadership and collaborates across sector teams to coordinate the design of multi-dimensional, evidence-based adolescent programming interventions that can be used across contexts (HEA, fragile, and transitioning economies). This position champions cross-sector collaboration to identify scalable innovative solutions and leads the development of adolescent programming guidance (including global minimum standards, project models, and capacity building strategies. This position will design valid, cross-cultural impact measures and build capacity to conduct ethical and quality measurements of WV’s contribution to organization-wide measurement targets (Child Well Being Objectives 4: Children ages 12-18 report an increase in level of well-being, and 8: Increase in adolescents education and life skills).

Areas of Responsibility: 

Set Strategic Priorities:

  • Provide technical leadership on adolescent programming; collaborating effectively across sectors and themes to strengthen integration and contribution to WV’s Child Well Being (CWB) Objectives; and to design evidence-based approaches that can be utilized across contexts and funding mechanisms.

Measurement:

  • Provide technical leadership for WV’s CWB Objectives 4 and 8; and collaborate with Faith and Development team to align methods and measurement approaches across adolescent CWB Objectives. Generate content for Partnership Strategy Dashboard, Annual Global CWB Objective reports and sector dashboards.

TSO Deployment and Capacity Building:

  • Provides technical leadership, working collaboratively with the TSO and E&L teams to deliver high quality technical support and capacity building across the partnership in line with TSO service criteria.

Innovation and Evidence Building:

  • Provides technical leadership, working collaboratively across sector teams and the TSO for innovation, research and evidence building, ongoing learning and continuous improvement of adolescent programming.

External Engagement:

  • Contributes to industry discourse and good practice through effective external engagement.
Educational Background: 
Postgraduate degree in a relevant social science discipline.
Skills/Experience: 

Required:

  • 5 or more years of experience actively engaged in adolescent programming with disadvantaged populations in international contexts.
  • 5 or more years of experience in monitoring and evaluating adolescent programming in international contexts.

Preferred:

  • Experience of working in Christian environment.
  • Experience in supporting capacity building in developing contexts using cross-cultural methods.
  • Experience presenting in national, regional, or global forum.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
