Sr. Project Manager - Emergency Cardiovascular Care

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Project Manager in our Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

The Senior Project Manager, ECC Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the management of assigned projects. In addition to assigned projects, the Senior Project Manager is also responsible for managing the daily activities of a team of project managers through technical and professional guidance in order to successfully complete projects.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assists Director of Project Management in monitoring project management needs and resources within ECC
  • Manages Project Manager direct reports and provides input to Director of Project Management in project assignments. Provide mentoring to Project Manager direct reports, and performs periodic performance reviews
  • Establishes and maintains project management processes and documentation to ensure project quality on all projects as assigned with the Director of Project Management
  • Supports key project initiatives across ECC with monitoring and analyzing projects for alignment
  • Performs project management duties including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing assigned projects as needed and assigned
  • Provides project status updates to ECC staff, consultants, and volunteers for all assigned projects. Also monitors at a high-level status of projects assigned to project managers the Senior Project Managers supervise
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Background in managing projects required
  • PMP certification with specific project management experience preferred.
