In cooperation with the Vice President, Human Resources, the Payroll Administrator will understand and promote the mission of the YMCA.  Fostering a climate of high staff engagement, the Payroll Administrator will manage all payroll related processes with assigned branches and childcare/afterschool sites to ensure accuracy of each employee’s hours, compensation, taxes, entitlements and benefits.  The Payroll Administrator will have an employee-centered approach to ensure each employee is treated with respect and responded to quickly while ensuring accuracy.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Receive new-rehire, status and position change information and ensure compliance with all policies and laws. Ensure receipt of all required paperwork such as I-9, job descriptions, W-4, clearances, references prior to processing.
  • Process employee terminations in a timely manner to ensure entitlement payouts and benefits are updated accurately.
  • Create and send out monthly reports for grant funded programs and other related areas.
  • Reconcile monthly payroll of onsite pays for the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Manage Staff annual support payroll pledge deduction process.
  • Manage the full-time and part-time time off entitlements.
  • Process biweekly payroll. Review and monitor all time collected, ensure proper data entry and documentation to pay. Monitor overtime and pay trends, generate reports and consult with Executive Director and VP Human Resources if problems arise. Ensure accurate tax deductions and reporting, process garnishments and ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor direct deposit authorizations and process rejections to ensure staff funds are paid.
  • Create payroll reports upon request regarding hours, compensation, positions. 
Educational Background: 
College graduate in accounting or similar field. 3-5 years’ experience processing payroll.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of Ceridian software, preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to apply accounting, reconciliation and statistical concepts in practical situations.
  • Ability to work well with others and to foster relationships with branch personnel.
  • Ability to attend to details.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $39,000.00 - $53,000.00
