Population Services International (PSI) seeks a full-time paid Washington, DC-based intern able to work 40 hours/week to support the Finance Department. This internship provides an opportunity to work with PSI staff with a focus in external audits. Additional tasks would be supporting finance operations creating a unique opportunity for audit and operations experience. PSI offers flexible working hours and a dynamic, creative, and progressive work environment. The internship will start in October and last for six months.
The Finance Intern will have a variety of duties and will work on projects related to supporting PSI’s activities.
- Assist with PSI’s consolidated financial audit and various donor audits.Research and assist with preparing/obtaining audit support.
- Coordinate field submission of audit samples.
- Prepare and process audit related financial data.
- Coordinate with external auditors’ PBC requests.
- Support PSI’s finance operationsMonitor field compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist accounts payable
- Other tasks, as requested.
- Complete administrative responsibilities, as requested.
- Work on special projects and other tasks, as requested.

The basics:
- Has excellent organization and administrative skills with special attention to detail
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work independently and on a team in a cooperative, problem-solving capacity
- Has excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills
- Brings substantial experience with Microsoft Excel
- Can multitask and prioritize multiple tasks based on deadlines
- Fluency in a French or Spanish is a plus
