The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Digital Content Manager at our office located in Dallas, TX.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, writing and modifying original content for patient portal, websites, digital newsletters, and interactive digital health tools on the American Heart Association web properties and for direct to consumer communications. Responsible for building and managing relationships with content providers in the AHA Office of Science, external submissions and contracted writers. Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and external science reviews.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, edits and modifies high quality original content for use on web properties and via a variety of digital assets which may include digital magazines, interactive tools, apps, blogs, patient forums and videos. Ensures messaging and digital content aligns with the assigned Portfolio strategy and vision.
- Works in close collaboration and consultation with Digital Creative Manager and Senior Product Manager to enhance accessibility, engagement and content delivery via digital asset. Ensures content aligns with digital engagement and campaign goals.
- Serves as content expert ensuring rapid translation of science, research, scientific guidelines and statements into consumer accessible language and for digital media. Ensures Scientific statements are reviewed by Science & Medicine Advisor, volunteer Science reviewers or related approver.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, writers, editors, and other digital support professionals (including vendors) engaging in digital content development and online program participation.
- Regularly monitors digital trends and results. Performs digital content audits; prepares and presents digital content gap analysis to increase and improve inventory of digital content.
- May align workflow and production review by Portfolio to ensure delivered materials meet deadlines, content quality and audience requirements. Provides content support for proposal development to acquire or renew potential and existing sponsors. Understands, interprets and communicates digital capabilities/limitations to Portfolio teams. Ensures the AHA is meeting contractual obligations.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Public Health/ and or Marketing and Communications Degree
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum two years of experience in the related field
- Minimum five years of experienced in digital content creation and digital project management
- Advanced computer literacy (All MS Office products, Internet Explorer and other browsers, and previous experience with a content management system)
- Knowledge of digital publication and production process.
- Ability to recognize and recommend digital content enhancements for accessibility and engagement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for various settings: vendors, sponsors, internal groups, and writing for the digital audience
