The Malaria and WASH Team at PSI seeks applicants for the position of Financial Analyst in its Washington, DC office (or remote). The Financial Analyst will monitor the overall financial/contractual status of large grants and provide finance support for domestic and overseas program staff with oversight from the Malaria Program Manager.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Budgets: You will support our projects to ensure the highest level of financial management by monitoring spending against annual operating and donor budget. You will help us develop and manage our departmental annual operating budget and you’ll assist in the development of new budgets for proposals.
- Billing: You will help us monitor our Accounts Receivables to ensure we are getting paid! You will also review all donor invoices and coordinate the review of Accounts Payable transactions. You will review sub-award invoices and manage payment trackers for reconciliation.
- Reporting & Analysis: You will conduct analysis of departmental financial status and trends, including periodic review of budget and targets, program balance sheets, donor funding trends, obligation analysis, etc. and develop financial management dashboards (burn rates, program income monitoring, etc.).
- Liaison: You will serve as the main liaison on financial issues between the MCS Department and other PSI departments to coordinate deliverable submission, audit implementation, and contract compliance.
Educational Background:
BA in accounting or finance; MBA/MS in Finance highly preferred;

The basics
- Minimum 3+ yrs experience with financial, accounting and/or contract regulations;
- Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, and strong analytical/problem solving capabilities;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
- Experience with accounting software, databases and spreadsheets;
- Work experience in a developing country is a strong advantage;
- Previous experience in managing major donor budgets is a strong advantage; and,
- Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to auditing, training and/or financial oversight of foreign entities; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; and an interactive nature.
