Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a proactive, and process-oriented HR professional to join our Talent Acquisition team as an HR/Talent Acquisition Specialist. This analytical position supports on four key areas. Primarily, the HR/Talent Acquisition Specialist oversees a complex and detailed background check process for the AmeriCorps program including conducting and documenting all due diligence and results for 400-500 annual program participants as well as 100+ supervisors and supporting HFHI staff. The specialist also supports the AmeriCorps program through member recruitment and onboarding as well as supporting the administration of software tools for the Talent Acquisition team.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition with cross-functional reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition.
Position can be based in either of our headquarters offices in Atlanta, GA or Americus, GA.
Due diligence (40%)
- Conduct and maintain documentation for multiple levels of background checks for federally-funded AmeriCorps program participants and staff, in compliance with AmeriCorps program requirements
- Includes documenting initiation, completion and clearance notifications for state, federal and other background checks for AmeriCorps program
- Follow up with Talent Acquisition leadership on questionable results and subsequent adverse action procedures
- Monitor, document and adapt to changes to the program requirements for due diligence, including content and documentation
- Monitor, document and adapt to changes in the state and federal processes and requirements for conducting background checks
- Conduct other background checks on non-AmeriCorps staff, as needed
- Act as point of contact with US background check vendor for system upgrades
- Maintain and update all related process documents and help train new staff
AmeriCorps program support (40%)
- In collaboration with the Manager – Talent Acquisition, act as an HR business partner to the AmeriCorps program team on due diligence and some recruitment-related needs
- Create and update all AmeriCorps postings in the HFHI Applicant Tracking System and the AmeriCorps.gov websites.
- Prepare and send all AmeriCorps offers through the Applicant Tracking System and maintain tracking processes for AmeriCorps program
- Recruit AmeriCorps members at a national level across multiple Habitat for Humanity affiliates; Solicit potential candidates via various platforms and channels
- Participate in the onboarding and enrollment process for AmeriCorps members
- Maintain HR-related AmeriCorps paper files and documentation; archive and destroy files per retention policy
HR systems maintenance and development (10%)
- Create tickets with IBM for support on Kenexa IBM Talent Suite (includes e-onboarding and ATS)
- Support process design, implementation, end-user training
- Perform system testing in Staging and Production environments; document results
- Track change requests and help implement in the backend of the system
- Develop and run reports out of these databases for multiple purposes
General support (10%)
- Monitor several generic email inboxes and respond to incoming inquiries about HR, recruitment and the AmeriCorps program
- Maintain and update various process documents for the department
- Facilitate HFHI onboarding processes, including new hire orientation and other trainings
- Facilitate temp requests for HFHI and maintain master service agreements with new vendors; respond to vendor inquiries
- Process payment requests and invoices for AmeriCorps and HR-related costs
- Create visa support letters for HFHI staff traveling internationally
- Provide administrative support (scheduling candidate travel, interviews, phone screens, I-9 maintenance, etc.) to members of the Talent Acquisition team
- 3+ years working in HR/Talent Acquisition, including at least 1 year of experience performing background checks
- 1+ years of database administration and/or systems management, preferably within HR or with HRIS, OR degree in computer science/IT/related field
- Exceptional organizational skills; very detail-oriented; experience working with critical deadlines
- Ability to work successfully with a large number and variety of clients
- Experience creating, writing and/or documenting processes
- Diplomatic, professional communication skills
- Ability to follow processes, but also think critically in the face of ambiguity
- Ability to multi-task, managing multiple assignments, priorities and objectives simultaneously
- Intermediate MS Office skills, including Excel and Outlook
PREFERRED:
- Experience using applicant tracking systems, especially Kenexa/BrassRing, preferred
- IT background or schooling advantageous – having developed and run reports from databases
- Experience conducting trainings or orientations
- Former AmeriCorps National or VISTA member a plus
